Esmeraldas

Cacao beans for our Ecuador Esmeraldas Brasstown Craft Chocolate are more than special. They are grown in the far north of Ecuador, almost at the border with Colombia, in the province called Esmeraldas. This is the home to a few plantations where a particular, one-of-a-kind cacao variety called “Arriba” or “National” in English is grown. They are recognizable by their intense coffee and liquorice notes.
